Class Description:
As creators and communicators, we have a responsibility to ensure our digital content reaches the largest possible audience. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) is a comprehensive framework for making digital content more accessible. Many accessibility barriers are clearly defined, while others leave holes open for debate.
Much of the digital content produced today on social media, websites, and digital documents is unintentionally excluding people due to technological barriers. Delve into these barriers faced by individuals with diverse disabilities, including: low vision, color blindness, mobility and cognitive disabilities, plus neurodiversity.
Together, let’s reframe key elements of the WCAG into plain English, learn to identify barriers, and overcome them with content decisions that free your creativity.
Accessibility Topics Covered:
- Overview of current Web Standards (ADA, WCAG, etc)
- Deep dive into the most common issues that cause accessibility barriers on the web
- Actionable key takeaways you can implement TODAY to help remediate common issues
