Class Description:
Here’s the truth…You can’t just check a box on accessibility. It isn’t a one-and-done task; it’s complex and evolves as technology and needs do.
Accessibility is good for people, good for business, and it’s the law. This class challenges the myth of “checking the box” and instead builds a foundation for why accessibility matters and how to put it into practice, especially when expanding your in-house accessibility capabilities. We’ll start with culture, what accessibility means for people with disabilities, and how language, humility, and lived experience shape understanding.
From there, we’ll dive into compliance and implementation, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the recent DOJ Title II update, common accommodations, and the critical difference between adaptation and inclusive design.
You’ll leave with actionable steps, language, and strategies needed to reach compliance, grow your business, and expand access to an underserved and untapped community.
